“The Patient Counselor”
Like a good physician who sometimes inflicts pain in order to heal, Jesus sometimes refrains from comforting us in our pain, in order to bring about greater faith in our lives. He hides in order to disciple us, so that we learn to walk by faith rather than sight. Such was his goal with the two disciples on the road to Emmaus.
