Prayer isn’t designed to be something that makes us feel like failures. It’s really exciting and amazing.
Our primary barrier to prayer is our unbelief. Unbelief tells us we cannot come to God, but he wants us to approach him as Father. Rather than having flimsy roots, prayer changes our roots to be the solid rock. “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” (Matthew 7:24)
It’s not about putting in the extra effort or putting on a good show. Prayer is about coming and just being with God. Out of that is life, growth, and the confidence to ask audaciously.
