The Israelites had been freed from slavery in Egypt but because they couldn’t see a path forward through the sea, they were tempted to return to their previous bondage. The crossing of the Red Sea reflects our own path from death to life in Christ. Yet, there are moments when we, too, feel the temptation to forget our liberation.
