Kids Lesson: Look For God

By June 6, 2020 No Comments

LESSON BIBLE PASSAGE: 1 Kings 19:1-18

For this lesson, read through this Bible passage using the Action Bible or a Children’s Bible if you have one! Then join Steele, our friend from the Rock Church in Utah, for some worship, story time and a fun craft.

CRAFT: The story of Elijah ( in the lesson video)

  • 2 paper plates
  • Brad/fastener
  • Coloring supplies
  • Kids scissors

MEMORY VERSE: Ephesians 4:4-6

There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

Ephesians 4:4-6

ACTIVITY: A song to help us with our memory verse

“When Jesus prayed for his disciples before going to the cross, He specifically prayed for unity. We pray this Scripture and song will encourage the Church to be an example of the unity America needs right now.. The world needs Jesus, let’s be a loving example of who He is by loving one another.” Jason Houser of Seeds Family Worship

Additional Craft Activity:

Here’s another fun way to help us memorize scripture verses: Make ‘paddles’ out of paper plates and craft sticks by taping or gluing the stick to the back of the paper plate. (One for each person.) Write the memory verse on each paddle and decorate it by coloring on it or putting stickers on it…use your imagination! Then blow up a balloon (or use a small ball or a wadded up piece of paper – whatever you have on hand) and hit the balloon back and forth, each person saying one word of the verse when they hit the balloon until you get through the whole verse. If the balloon touches the floor, you have to start over!
