Beginning in the first chapters of Genesis and extending throughout the entire text, the Bible is filled with insights into masculinity and femininity. Here we find our original purpose (“made...in the image of God”) and the root of our problems (rebellion toward and distrust of God). The men’s and women’s ministries at Summitview exist to examine the biblical teaching regarding gender and to encourage God-glorifying patterns of living in men and women.
“Productive Dominion” and “Peaceful, Life-giving Beauty”
A woman’s life was intended to be the crowning beauty of all creation. Her steady trust of God was intended to highlight His goodness and faithfulness for the watching world. But a busy, clamoring and active distrust of God has led women to reject God as a source of life and security to seek it instead in being most highly exalted.
Restoring Peaceful Trust
For those who would receive it, the Gospel provides women with a permanent identity as God’s beloved in Christ. It also becomes the basis for security that is eternal. As women embrace the Gospel of Jesus Christ, they are transformed to live productive lives of peaceful, life-giving beauty.
God’s Promises Are The Foundation For Peaceful Trust
The Women’s Ministry at Summitview is focused on reminding women of the great promises they have from God in the Gospel. Our hope is to keep these promises fresh and encourage women to keep them as the center of their lives and relationships.
