The Mpact Gathering
Part of being in the body of Christ is gathering together as one, not giving up meeting together, and uniting to hear teaching from the Word. The Mpact large group gathering meets on the first and third Wednesdays of every month to grow a community of teens that are uniting together to love God and each other.
Before our meeting, we like to run around and play games together. In the warmer days, that means ultimate frisbee at Rolland Moore Park. As soon as the temperatures drop, we bring the games indoors to the church gym for volleyball and other games. These games start at 5:30 p.m. All parents and teens are encouraged to come.
The gathering then starts at 7 p.m. in the Upper Room at Summitview Community Church, and ends at 8:30 p.m. All teens and parents are encouraged to gather with us and participate in the meeting.
A typical night looks like worship and prayer, announcements, and then breaking into three different groups: High School (both genders), Middle School girls, and Middle School boys. Each breakout group has parent-teachers leading them in discussion and training from the Bible. In the Middle School breakouts, fathers of daughters can still add valuable input with the boys, and mothers of sons are welcome with the girls. We love having parents and teens involved!
Student leaders help throughout the night, and we encourage teens to initiate in serving and coming to make Mpact better. It is like a spiritual potluck, where each individual dish helps feed the whole.
